Press Release: New Board Members Join Bagaduce Music

Bagaduce Music is pleased to announce the addition of four members to its Board of Directors. Each brings unique expertise to Bagaduce Music, contributing in significant ways as it expands its reach to the worldwide community of music.

Sarah J. Adams recently served as the Librarian of Harvard University’s Loeb Music Library since 2013. In this capacity, she managed its extensive collections of music, microfilms, rare books, and electronic resources. Her experiences in cataloging vast and diverse collections of music will be an important asset to Bagaduce Music as it contemplates upgrading its music holdings of over 1 million individual pieces of music to a more standard catalog platform in the years to come.

Sally Stone is a retired nurse and has been a Brooksville resident since 2012. Her work as a community volunteer has focused primarily on families, children and the arts. She is currently the vice-chairperson of the Hancock County Committee of the Maine Community Foundation. Her experiences will help Bagaduce Music with the full spectrum of development activities as it strives to share its music collection with this community.

Holly Wood is from Winchester, MA but has a seasonal home in Trenton, Maine. She has had a long career as a retail and education executive and business owner in the greater Boston area. She also founded and ran a preschool for many years. Her considerable energy and organizational expertise as well as her love of education will contribute to ongoing development efforts.

Bennett Konesni brings rich and eclectic musical experiences to the Board. A professional musician since 2001, Bennett has performed at a wide variety of music at venues across the country, ranging from bluegrass to Scandinavian dance tunes, worksongs to folk ballads. His special focus has been studying and performing the worksongs of many cultures, including first-hand experiences in more than a dozen countries as a Thomas K. Watson Fellow, and as a special envoy for the U.S. State Department in Mongolia and Ukraine. He is the co-founder and director of the Sylvester Manor Educational Farm in Shelter Island, NY which focuses on preserving, cultivating, and sharing the place, its stories and food culture through, among other things,  a successful concert series and educational programming. He also directs the Worksong Project and Community Chorus in Belfast, Maine, reviving the ancient art of singing while working. His “Worksong Project Week” was one of the successful programs presented by Bagaduce Music in its June 2019 “From our Collection” series (slated to return in spring 2021).  Bennett will bring his youthful vitality and enthusiasm to many ongoing educational and performing projects planned by  Bagaduce Music as we showcase our diverse collection of music on our campus and further afield.

Bagaduce Music is grateful for the support of these talented and energetic individuals as it fulfills its mission to promote the appreciation, knowledge, and performance of music in this community and worldwide in the years ahead.
