COMING UP:

Second Wednesday House Party series on Wed. May 13, 7:00pm concert in Blue Hill. Doors open at 6pm for soups and chai from Conscious Cafe.
Mia Bertelli is a singular vocalist known for her sensitive delivery and remarkable ability to find the soul of each song she sings. Traversing genres in search of sounds and stories that speak to something potent about the human experience, she brings a signature blend of unguarded curiosity, playfulness, and vulnerability to every performance.
Her approach to music is shaped by a richly diverse background, drawing from semi-improvised polyphonic world singing traditions, Irish and Appalachian solo balladry, and Scandinavian dance music. A deep love of pop, jazz, and soul further informs her sound, resulting in performances that move fluidly between styles and emotional textures. From dynamic duo fiddling to DADGAD electric guitar to intricate vocal harmony, Bertelli’s work embraces both the lush and the sparse, the tender and the soaring.
For this special House Party concert, Bertelli will be joined by a rotating cast of collaborators, presenting a curated selection of favorite songs from across genres. Audiences can expect a vibrant “sampler platter” of sounds and moods—along with more instruments than might reasonably fit on a stage.
Bagaduce Music’s Second Wednesday House Party is a monthly midweek gathering that combines live music, food, and community in a relaxed house-concert setting—an affordable opportunity to experience exceptional artists up close.
Soups, snacks and chai will be available from 6:00–7:15 pm from Conscious Café in the Performance Hall.
Concert admission: Advanced tickets encouraged at Bagaduce $15–35 suggested. Tickets at the door as capacity allows.

The Grammy-nominated album was praised for its “fresh, galvanizing sound” (Bay Area Reporter) and named one of Gramophone’s favorite classical recordings of the year.
The ensemble’s Co-Artistic Directors curate programming collaboratively and democratically, rotating project direction and musical leadership. Each year they present a full concert season and offer music instruction to hundreds of students through the Palaver Music Center.
