BLUE HILL – Bagaduce Music will present its third annual Family Concert on Sunday, July 3rd at 4 pm at The Bay School. The performance will feature local musicians and actors in a production of The Emperor’s New Clothes, by Peter Schickele. The chamber music program will also include Daniel Dorff’s The Three Little Pigs. Both pieces are from the Bagaduce Music library collection.

In its commitment to music education, Bagaduce Music presents a Family Concert each year as part of its From Our Collection, Unexpected Music in Unexpected Places concert series. The concert is ideally suited for children ages 5-12, but will appeal to music fans of all ages. Composer and parodist, Peter Schickele is best known for his comedic compositions using the fictional name, P.D.Q. Bach.

Bagaduce Music will partner with the New Surry Theater for the production. New Surry Theater’s Artistic Director, Lori Sitzabee says, “We are looking forward to collaborating with Bagaduce Music on this charming and humorous piece. Our actors will be using pantomime to bring this Hans Christian Andersen folktale to life.”

Tickets for the performance are $25 each or $40 for families of up to four people and can be purchased at or by calling 374-5454. The event is sponsored by Ellie and Paul Horowitz and the Merle Grindle Agency.

Bagaduce Music’s mission is to collect, preserve and lend printed sheet music and to promote the appreciation, knowledge, and performance of music.
