BLUE HILL – With its continued commitment to the arts, Bagaduce Music will host a reception on July 28 from 4:30-6pm for Heidi Daub and Lisa Ennis to celebrate their exhibit, Beckoning the Elements/The Calling, on display now through the end of September in the Bagaduce Music Performance Hall. Both artists’ works are featured in Bagaduce Music’s 2022 From Our Collection season brochure and on the organization’s website.

“Bagaduce Music is committed to supporting artists of all kinds on our campus”, says Executive Director Teresa Myrwang. “Bagaduce Music is inspired by the long and rich history of visual artists in our community. We are so fortunate to feature these two Maine-based artists whose works are influenced by our beautiful natural surroundings. This show complements our efforts to promote the appreciation of all the arts in our community.”

Heidi Daub, based in Blue Hill, was the recipient of the inaugural 2018 Artist In Residence at the Alcyon Center. Both an artist and a poet, Heidi has been featured at the Belfast Poetry Festival and WORD Festival, and her art has been exhibited extensively throughout Maine.

Lisa Ennis lives and works in Castine and has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her works in this exhibit feature cyanotype images made using a 19th-century photographic method. Lisa describes the process as, “a wonderful collaboration with nature as my hands only play a part in the making of these images and the natural materials, as well as the Elements, create the rest. Collecting plants from my garden, the side of the road, and seaweeds from the shore, these beautiful materials make the images by literally imprinting them onto watercolor paper or canvas through the historical cyanotype photo process whereby the sun, humidity, and wind all take part in developing the image.”

Bagaduce Music intends to showcase local artists each season in its Performance Hall in conjunction with its From Our Collection, Unexpected Music in Unexpected Places concert series.

The reception is free and open to the public. More information can be found at or by calling 374-5454.

Bagaduce Music’s mission is to collect, preserve and lend printed sheet music and to promote the appreciation, knowledge, and performance of music.
