The Bagaduce Music Lending Library was established in 1983. Its Founders and Board of Trustees recognized early on that music is central to people, to their celebrations of life, and to the artistic culture in Maine and beyond. The Library has flourished and grown over the past 34 years and now has more than 1 million pieces in its collection. As a result, it has outgrown its current space.
In 2015, two local philanthropists, Jan and Bob Marville, donated property to the Music Library. This wonderful new location, will be a music-centered environment that contributes to the entire community. The already renovated Performance Hall, has proven to be a terrific new community space for concerts, rehearsals, lectures, recitals, music education and more.
Accessibility for all is a valued change that will increase visitor and volunteer opportunities. Call us at 207-374-5454 if you'd like a tour of the new building. The future of your community depends on us all, sharing in the building and reaping the benefits in 2017.
