Bagaduce Music is broadening the offerings in its Performance Hall at 49 South Street in Blue Hill. By drawing attention to the performance and artistic possibilities of the Performance Hall, Bagaduce Music hopes to serve increasingly as a collaborating influence for musicians and artists of other disciplines in the community.

In addition to launching an exciting performance series in the great outdoors—commencing in late June with From our Collection, Unexpected Music in Unexpected PlacesBagaduce Music, in collaboration with the Cynthia Winings Gallery in Blue Hill, will host Soundtracks, an exhibition of visual art, featuring Heidi Daub, John Gallagher and Susan Webster.

Bagaduce Music is pleased to present a re-imagining of its campus and exploration of new creative possibilities, inspired by this unprecedented time. We are looking forward to seeing the artworks of these established Maine artists, who are also musicians.

Heidi Daub lives and works in Blue Hill. She writes, “engaged in the interplay between various artistic disciplines, my paintings evolve from a stilling and attunement, coupled with an urgency to render our interdependence with the natural world.”

John Gallagher lives in East Blue Hill. In Gallagher’s paintings, the title might “suggest a place, but its more about the soundand visual rhythms of the painting.”

Susan Webster is a visual artist who works with a variety of materials and lives on Deer Isle, where she also plays keyboard in a rock band.

Bagaduce Music is grateful for the opportunity to bring these artists together to demonstrate how the influences of the visual and the musical are integrated in their creative practices.

Soundtracks opens in the Bagaduce Music Performance Hall on Wednesday, April 14 and will be open to the public Wednesday through Saturday, 12 noon – 4 p.m. through June 26. An opening reception for Soundtracks is Friday, April 16 from 4-6 p.m. Another reception takes place on Friday, June 25 from 4-6pm.
